2013 BMW 328i xDrive Sedan AWD (F30) L4-2.0L Turbo (N20) Copyright ? 2013, ALLDATA 10.52SS Page 1 Vehicle: All Technical Service Bulletins Instruments - Clock Inoperative Or Runs Extremely Slow SI B62 09 12 Instruments August 2012 Technical Service SUBJECT Clock Runs Extremely Slow or Not At All After Resetting MODEL F30 Produced from July 1, 2012 to September 30, 2012 With option ZTP (Technology Package) SITUATION After resetting the clock time following a battery disconnect or discharged, the clock time (minutes) advances at very slow rate. For example, the clock time advances only 1 or 2 minutes per hour instead of 60. CAUSE Instrument cluster application error PROCEDURE 1. After resetting the clock time, verify the clock time is advancing at a normal rate (after 5 or 10 minutes). 2. If the clock time is not advancing correctly, perform a battery reset; recheck that the clock is now functioning correctly. 3. If the problem is still present, replace the instrument cluster. Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
