E39 THMR1 Harsh 1-2 and 2-3 Upshift with Light Throttle Application
MODEL
E39 with M52TU produced 9/98 to 2/99
SITUATION
Customer complaint of a hard 1-2/2-3 upshift when accelerating lightly.
CAUSE
DME/ECM calibration
CORRECTION
Reprogram the DME/ECM with CD 23.0 or higher.
PROCEDURE
1. Before programming, check the DME programmed and basic control module numbers. If the numbers shown are displayed, do not program
the DME. Contact the Technical Hotline for further information.
2. An automatic determination can be used to reprogram the DME/ECM in a '99 or '00 MY 528iA/iAT.
