SUBJECT

RDS Function Causes Confusing Station Names When in "All stations" Screen

MODEL

[NEW] E82, E88 (1 Series)

[NEW] E90, E91, E92, E93 (3 Series)

[NEW] E60, E61 (5 Series)

[NEW] E63, E64 (6 Series)

[NEW] E71 (X6)

[NEW] Only vehicles equipped with SA 609 CCC (Car Communication Computer) Navigation System

SITUATION

With RDS (Radio Data System) set to "Active", some of the displayed station tags will show part of the song title or artist name instead of the station

name. For example: instead of "Rock98", the display shows "Thomas".

CAUSE

[NEW] RDS was set to "Active" at the factory as a default.

[NEW] PROCEDURE

Do not replace parts.

This is considered normal operation of the CCC and no further software changes are expected.

If the customer does not wish to see these confusing RDS tags, RDS can be turned off briefly while storing the station tags. Once all the stations are

stored in memory, RDS can be turned on again.
