DWA Siren Triggered Incorrectly



MODEL



E46 with Anti-theft Alarm System (option 302)



SITUATION



Repeated incorrect triggering of the anti-theft alarm system (DWA)



The following fault codes may be set:



20h "Watchdog reset"



21h "Processor ROM"



47h "Processor Interrupt"



CAUSE



Software problems in General Module 5 software versions 3.0 and 3.1



The following General Modules are affected:



61 35 6 923 959



61 35 6 932 369



61 35 6 923 960



61 35 6 923 370



61 35 6 924 250



61 35 6 932 371



61 35 6 932 368



61 35 6 932 384



PROCEDURE



In the event of a customer complaint, perform diagnostics with DIS or GT1 and download the fault memory and alarm memory (in the General



Module).

If one of the following faults is stored in the fault memory in General Module 5



- 20h "Watchdog reset"



- 21h "Processor ROM"



- 47h "Processor Interrupt"



Replace the General Module with P/N 61 35 6 963 338, or later version.
