DWA Alarm Goes Off During Heavy Rain

E89 (Z4)
E93 (3 Series)
Vehicles produced from 2/1/2009 and equipped with option 302 (Anti-theft Alarm System)
SITUATION
The DWA (Anti-theft Alarm System) is triggered during heavy rain.
CAUSE
The sensitivity of the anti-theft interior motion detection sensors in the doors can trigger the alarm during heavy rain.
PROCEDURE
Perform diagnosis using ISTA (Integrated Service Technical Application), and troubleshoot any faults related to the DWA system.
If the system identifies the alarm as being triggered by the door interior protection sensors, follow the procedure attached to this Service Information
bulletin.
If the system does not identify the alarm as being triggered by the door interior protection sensor, follow standard troubleshooting.
