SUBJECT



Airbag Warning Lamp Illuminated; Low Resistance Fault Stored



MODEL



F01, F02 (7 Series)



SITUATION



The airbag warning lamp (AWL) is illuminated. One or more of the following low resistance faults may be stored for the passenger front airbag:



930915, 93091B, and 930921.



CAUSE



The airbag wires are shorting to a sharp metal bracket behind the DVD player in the glove compartment (see attachment).



CORRECTION



Normally, it is sufficient to reinsulate the wire using electrical tape. If a more substantial wire repair is necessary, refer to SI B61 01 07.



Apply protection to any sharp edges to prevent any further harness damage.
