The new AUX-IN socket requires greater force when connecting an AUX-IN cable. SITUATION When playing music from an external device (e.g., MP3/MP4 player, cell phone, etc.) connected to the AUX-IN socket in the center console, the audio output is: ^ Distorted (e.g., crackling, static, etc.) ^ Dropping out in certain loudspeakers ^ Inoperative CAUSE 1. The AUX-IN connector is not plugged in all the way. 2. The AUX-IN socket is defective. CORRECTION Verify the complaint with the customers external device, including the AUX-IN cable. Step 1: Check whether the AUX-IN connector is plugged in all the way by disconnecting and reconnecting the AUX-IN cable. When reconnecting the AUX-IN cable, make sure the AUX-IN connector is pushed all the way into the AUX-IN socket (slight force may be applied to overcome resistance). ^ When the AUX-IN is working correctly, explain the issue to the customer. ^ If not, refer to Step 2. Step 2 (only if necessary): Replace the AUX-IN socket if the AUX-IN connector is already plugged in all the way and it is still not working correctly.
