Alarm System Siren Is Not Active when Panic Button Is Pressed

Vehicles with option code 302 (Antitheft Alarm System)
SITUATION
When the panic button is pressed on the remote control key for 3 seconds or more, the alarm siren does not sound. Only the 4way
flashers come on.
CAUSE
Software error in the FZD module (Roof Function Center)
This error only occurs when the vehicle is programmed with ISTA/P2.47.7 or 2.48.1
PROCEDURE
Do not replace parts.

Perform diagnosis using the latest ISTA diagnostic software version. Complete all test plans for any stored faults in the DWA
(Antitheft Alarm System). If no faults are stored proceed to the next step.
Note:
When the ISTA system message displays: "Battery voltage only "XX.XX" V. Please connect charger." Please note the displayed
battery voltage reading in the repair order comments section.
Reprogram the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.48.2 or higher. For example, if the vehicle was programmed with ISTA/P2.48.1, the
measures plan will only include the FZD module for new coding. The new ILevels included in 2.48.2 are as follows:
^ F01, F02: F0011211503
^ F10: F0101211503
^ F25: F0251207509
Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
