CAUSE The mirror glass carrier inward bump stop is too high and limits the inward travel. PROCEDURE Remove the driver's door mirror glass. Refer to ISTA Repair Instruction 5116 026, "Replacing mirror glass." 1. Place the removed mirror glass on a clean work surface. Locate the upper/inner plastic bump stop (red circle). 2. Use an appropriate grinding tool or sander to fully remove the plastic bump stop (green circle). Use caution when removing the bump stop to prevent damage to the mirror glass and the mounting lugs. Reinstall the modified mirror and check for full inward movement. Note: Replacement of the mirror glass or mirror housing will not correct this issue, and must not be claimed as warranty.
