Service Engine Soon Lamp Is Illuminated: No Fault Stored in DME Memory or DMTL Test Plans Do Not Operate
MODEL
E82 and E88 (1 Series) with N51, N52K,[NEW]N54 and N55 engine
E90, E91, E92 and E93 (3 Series) with N51, N52K, [NEW]N54 and N55 engine E70 (X5) with N55 engine
E71 (X6) with [NEW]N54 and N55 engine F10 (5 Series) with N55 engine
F07 (Gran Turismo) with N55 engine SITUATION
Vehicles with the N55 engine:
DMTL-related faults can be read from the DME memory, but the test plans cannot be calculated or the test plans fail to operate. All vehicles with N51, N52K and [NEW]N54 engines and integration level E89X-10-06-501 or higher:
Faults cannot be read from the DME memory, but the Service Engine Soon lamp is illuminated. CAUSE
DME and diagnostic software error PROCEDURE
Submit a TC Case to the DMTL group with one of the following statements in the subject field:
^ N55 DMTL test plans do not operate; or
^ The SES lamp is illuminated, but no faults are stored. WARRANTY
