SUBJECT
Rotary Door Striker Defective
MODEL
E82, E88 (1 Series) E9x (3 Series)
SITUATION
The door cannot be locked or unlocked when using the key or the key remote.
CAUSE
Lubrication of the rotary door striker can cause defects. Grease or oil must not be used.
PROCEDURE
The problem has been integrated into ISTA diagnostics. Follow the diagnosis test plan, using the latest ISTA version.
In "Information Search", select the "Function Structure" tab. Select "Body, Locking and security functions, Central locking, Outputs, Central locking drives, and then press "Start Search".
Select test plan "B5126_87001 central locking drives". CORRECTION
Refer to ISTA diagnosis for the required repair procedure.
