SUBJECT:
MID Display Flashes or Flickers Sporadically
This Service Information bulletin supersedes S.I. 65 09 98 dated November 1998.
MODEL:
E39 (5 Series), E38 (7 Series) with MID. Vehicles produced up to January 2000
Situation:
Intermittently, the MID momentarily flashes bright when the headlights are on and the dimmer switch is turned down to its minimal setting (dark)
and/or intermittently, the MID display flickers.
Cause:
Software error in Multi Information Display (MID).
Correction:
In case of customer complaint, replace the MID using the unit with modified software version SW 13.0.
