Headlamp Condensation

SITUATION
One, or both headlamps have condensation (or misting) on the inside surface of the headlamp lens.
1. The condensation consists of water droplets smaller than 1 mm, and clears after driving with the headlamps on for approximately 15 minutes.
2. The condensation consists of droplets of water larger than 1 mm, and does not clear after driving for 15 minutes.
CAUSE
Situation 1:
Rapid changes in temperature/humidity (for example, storm shower, car wash, underground parking lot) causes moisture to condense on the inside
surface of the headlamp lens.
Situation 2:
A damaged lamp, or a lamp with a broken lens seal allows water to enter lamp.
CORRECTION
Situation 1:
In case of customer complaint, explain how changing environmental conditions causes condensation to occur. This situation is normal. No part
replacement is appropriate.
Situation 2:
After verilying a customer complaint, replace the affected lamp(s). Refer to repair instructions:
RA 63 12 001 (left headlamp)
RA 63 12 002 (right headlamp)

Check the affected lamp for external damage. Note that lens covers or headlamp housings that are damaged are customer responsibility and must not
be claimed under warranty.
