Piston Sealing Cover Leaking
MODEL
E36, E39 with A4S270/310R (GM4) produced 1/93 - 8/99, from transmission serial number 4 071 106.
SITUATION
Transmission fluid leak from piston sealing cover (1).
CAUSE
Insufficient sealing at piston cover.
CORRECTION
On a customer complaint basis, replace piston sealing cover.
PROCEDURE
Refer to BMW repair instructions 24 00... Note: special tool 24 1 350 is needed to perform this work correctly. This tool will be distributed to all
BMW centers via automatic tool shipment.
