MODEL:
E38, E39, E46 Vehicles produced November 1998 to January 1999
Situation:
The cruise control, intermittently, cannot be switched on. The fault can only occur when, before starting off, the ignition is switched on twice within
a period of 6 to 30 seconds.
Cause:
Faulty brake light switch
Correction:
On a customer complaint basis, replace the brake light switch.
The replacement switch should have either a silver dot (1) marked next to the date code, or no color dot at all.
