NO Seat Belt Warning in Instrument Cluster after Coding.



MODEL



E46 - (3 Series). Vehicles produced from 9/99



SITUATION



When using DIS V20.0 or 20.1 for coding, the seat belt warning in the instrument cluster will be switched off any time the coding operation changes



the ZCS code.



Coding will cause the ZCS code to change under the following circumstances:



^ Replacement of an existing vehicle module with a later version of that module.



^ Retrofitting a retailer installed vehicle option, e.g. DWA



CAUSE



Coding error in DIS CD V20.0 and 20.1. The problem will be corrected with DIS CD 21



PROCEDURE



Use DIS or MoDiC with DIS CD V19.1. If necessary, reinstall DIS CD V19.1 on a single DIS or MoDiC.



NOTE: For all other diagnostic, coding and programming operations, CD V20.1 MUST BE USED



1. Select "Coding/Programming"



2. Select "ZCS coding"



3. Select "E46 Series"



4. Select "Kombi"



5. The screen displays "Kombi has been selected?" Answer "Yes".



6. The screen displays the VIN with the question "Chassis # change?" Answer "No".



7. All (3) lines of ZCS code are displayed with the question "Change?" Answer "Yes".



8. The GM line of code is then displayed with the question "Selection correct?" Answer "Yes"



9. The SA line of code is then displayed with the question "Selection correct?". Answer "Yes"

10. The VN line of code is then displayed with the question "Selection correct?". Answer "No"



11. Using the keypad displayed on the screen, overwrite the VN line with a new VN line: 00000896FBS Answer "Yes" to the question "Selection



correct?"



12. All (3) lines of ZCS code are displayed with the question "Change?". Check VN line to confirm the correct input Answer "Yes" if correct.



Answer "No" if not correct, and repeat ZCS code entry from Step 8.



13. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the coding process. On completion of the coding process, the seat belt warning function will be
