Instrument Cluster - Trip and Total Distance Not Displayed

E82, E88 (1 Series)
Vehicles with Automatic transmission (option 205) and/or High-beam Assistant (option 5AC)
SITUATION
The trip and total odometer readings are hidden when the onboard computer function (BC) is activated.
In addition, if the BC function was active immediately prior to turning KL-15 off (Ignition OFF), the display defaults to the trip and total odometer
display when KL-15 is switched on (Ignition ON).

INFORMATION
The display on the instrument cluster is not large enough to display the onboard computer information (BC), the gear selection indicator symbol
(automatic gearbox) and/or the High-beam Assistant (FLA) symbol together with the odometer readings.
The trip and total odometer readings are therefore hidden EVERY time an onboard computer display is activated.
Due to legal regulations, the total odometer reading must be displayed with every activation of KL-15. Therefore, the BC function that was last set is
not displayed at first after performing terminal 15 "Ignition ON". This display can be reactivated by tapping the BC button once briefly.
