Rear Window Release Button Leaks Water

E91 (3 Series Sports Wagon)
E61 (5 Series Sports Wagon)
SITUATION
Various complaints may include: the rear window button is not working; the tailgate opens when the vehicle is driven; or the rear window opens
when starting.
CAUSE
Water intrusion into the rear window release button micro-switch
CORRECTION
Modify the wiper shaft guide lug. This repair procedure is only valid until the revised replacement part is released.
