MODEL



F01, F02, F07, F10, and F12 produced from 9/1/2010 to 3/1/2011



SITUATION



A check control message is displayed to the customer to have the battery replaced.



DME fault "213B01: Power management, battery status detected: battery faulty" is stored.



CAUSE



DME software error



CORRECTION



Note:



It is NOT necessary to replace the battery before running the energy diagnostic test plan.



Repair step 1:



Perform "Energy diagnostics" test module "ABL-DIT-AT6100_END_L6".



The fault is handled automatically in this module and further instruction to replace the battery should no longer be displayed.



If, however, the instruction to replace the battery still appears and/or the customer returns to the workshop with the same problem, proceed as



described in "Repair step 2".

Repair step 2:



With ISTA/D, perform test module "AS6120_WESCHEL - Register Battery replacement" two times, waiting at least 20 seconds before performing



it the second time.



Clear the fault memory.



Program the vehicle with ISTA/P 2.41.0 or a more recent version.



Vehicle integration (new) F0xx-11-03-501 or higher



Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
