Rattling Noises from the Passenger Side Glove Compartment



MODEL



F01, F02 (7 Series)



Vehicles produced from September 30, 2009 to March 29, 2012



SITUATION



A rattling noise coming from inside the passenger side glove compartment can be heard when the vehicle is in motion.



CAUSE



The fuse block cover inside the glove compartment is loose and rattles.



PROCEDURE



Confirm that the rattling noise is coming from the fuse block cover.



1. Open the glove compartment door and check if the fuse block cover is loose by lightly tapping on it.



2. Unlatch the fuse block cover, and then pull the cover outward to remove it from the glove compartment.

3. With the fuse block cover removed, apply felt tape (40mm x 15mm x .3mm) to the top black area shown by the yellow arrows. Note: the



picture shows the normal upright position of the cover when installed.



4. Invert the cover to the bottom side, and then repeat the same felt application procedure. Note: the picture shows the bottom side of the cover



when installed.



5. Reinstall the fuse block cover.



6. Retest and verify that this repair resolved the rattling noises.
