The display background in the HUD (Head­up Display) is too bright during night­time driving.
This situation is particularly noticeable when the instrument lighting is set to maximum. If the brightness of the indicating instruments is
reduced by adjusting the thumbwheel far enough that the display of the HUD is no longer perceived as too bright, the brightness of the
instrument cluster is then too low.
CAUSE
Software error in the HUD
PROCEDURE
Do not replace any parts.
A software solution is expected in July 2011 for the F10, and in September 2011 for the F01, F02, and F04, at which time this service
information bulletin will be updated to include the specific repair procedure.
