Technical Service
PERFORM THE PROCEDURE OUTLINED IN THIS SERVICE INFORMATION ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES THE NEXT TIME THEY
ARE IN THE SHOP FOR MAINTENANCE OR REPAIRS AND PRIOR TO RETAIL DELIVERY.
SUBJECT
Service Action: Condensate Drain Hose Check
MODEL
F01, F02 (7 Series)
F07 (5 Series Gran Turismo)
E60, E61 (5 Series)
E63, E64 (6 Series)
SITUATION
The connecting pieces for the condensate drain hoses of the air conditioning system may have become blocked.
CAUSE
Material from the manufacturing process has clogged the angle section. The condensate cannot flow out, and overflows into the vehicle
interior.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
This Service Action involves E60, E61, E63, E64, F01, F02, and F07 vehicles which were produced from 10/7/2009 to 10/13/2009.
In order to determine whether a specific vehicle has had this Service Action completed or is affected by this Service Action, first check
the Bpillar label for code number 558. If the code number 558 has been punched out, the campaign has already been performed. If the
code number 558 has not been punched out, it will be necessary to utilize the "Service Menu" of the DCSnet (Dealer Communication
System) or the Key Reader. Based on the response of the system, either proceed with the corrective action, or take no further action.
PROCEDURE
See attachments.
PARTS INFORMATION
LABEL INSTRUCTIONS
This Service Action has been assigned code number 558. After the vehicle has been checked and/or corrected, obtain a label (SD
92366) and :
Emboss your BMW dealer warranty number in the middle of the label (1):
Punch out code number 558 (2), printed on the label: and
Affix the label to the BPillar as shown.
If the vehicle already has a label from a previous Service Action/Recall Campaign, affix the new label next to the old one. Do not affix
one label on top of another one, because a number from an underlying label could appear in the punchedout hole of the new label.2010 BMW 750Li (F02) V84.4L Turbo (N63)
