The system includes Lane Departure Warning (LDW); High-beam Assistant (FLA); Speed Limit Information; and Front Collision Warning. The following fault codes may be stored: ^ 0x800ABA - KAFAS camera: internal camera error ^ 0x800ABB - LVDS communication fault in the camera control unit CAUSE Software error in the KAFAS (Camera Assisted Driver Assistance System) control unit PROCEDURE 1. Perform diagnostics using ISTA. 2. Complete all test plans for the stored fault codes mentioned in the situation above. 3. Test the functionality of the KAFAS system. 4. If the issue described in the situation is no longer present, no further test steps are required. 5. If the issue is still present, check the following: ^ Check both the wiring and the video cables between the camera and KAFAS control unit. ^ Carefully inspect the connector and the connector housing on both the camera and the KAFAS control unit for any damage. If the issue is no longer present after repairing the defect found, no further test steps are required. 7. If the wiring, video cables and connections were good and the issue is still present, program and code the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.46.0 or later. Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
