SITUATION



The MIL or Service Engine Soon lamp comes on while driving with a DME fault stored.

DME mixture control software error



In some cases, there may be an unmetered air leak in the induction system.



PROCEDURE



Inspect the intake system for leaks and repair if necessary. For N63 vehicles which have the mixture too lean faults stored and are outside this



production period, refer to the diagnostic troubleshooting hints in



SI B12 05 10.



For vehicles within the production period with a current vehicle integration level less than the targets listed below, program the vehicle using ISTA/P



2.38.1 or later.



E70, E71, and E72



Vehicle integration (new): E070-10-06-500 or later



F01, F02, and F07



Vehicle integration (new): F001-10-06-510 or later



F10



Vehicle integration (new): F010-10-06-511 or later
